Mother’s Day

I often share Mother’s Day with my son.  He was born two weeks early on Mother’s Day in 2000.  Talk about a Mother’s Day gift!!!!!

We spent the day after church with my mom.  She fixed us lunch – I know that seems wrong – but Dad’s PD makes it hard to go out to eat – even to our house.

Mom and Dad got James a 6 foot canvas teepee that sets up like an umbrella.  James and Sarah are going to have a blast with it in the backyard this summer!  I think all the pictures are on Mom’s camera. I will post them when I get them.

Edible Plate

We get some very unusual gifts from some of Jim’s vendors and customers. This green plate is one such gift. It it made to be broken and eaten. My plate licking family skipped the breaking and went straight for the eating!edible-plate.jpg

The 12 Days AFTER Christmas

This very funny song was sung at the DSO concert Friday night. Jim and the kids had never heard it. I told them that I’d find the words for it. Could I have sung it in High School???? (Brenda? Roberta?? are you out there?)

The 12 Days AFTER Christmas

The first day after Christmas
My true love and I had a fight.
And so I chopped the pear tree down
And burned it just for spite!
Then with a single cartridge
I shot that blasted partridge
My true love
My true love
My true love gave to me. (more…)

New look already????

As much as I LOVED the dark background, it was killing my eyes! This new look is Sarah’s choice. It had to be able to keep her birthday cake as the header. (Which, by the way, she made and decorated herself this year.) Good job kiddo!

Ta-Dah!!!!!!

Well kids! Here it is! Where shall I start? Photos? Nope, tried that – pics were WAY to big. I guess there’s a bit of a learning curve to this blog thing! Hmmmm, how about recipes I use create? I’ll do that soon. I’ve had requests for my chicken soup recipe. Words I like???????? Nah – not today. I don’t want to bore you right off the bat! Homeschool sites I love? Again, not today – too inclusive. AH! Christmas cookies!

I grew up making and eating a Christmas cutout cookie that is very different from a traditional sugar cookie. Want to know what I REALLY love about it? (more…)
